Job Overview

XPECT Solutions is searching for a Project Lead on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Quantico, VA. The ideal candidate will provide project management support for our large federal government agency’s highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.  

The Project Lead is responsible for coordinating, defining, staffing, and managing large Information Technology projects(s) in accordance with client requirements and company guidelines. Guides, organizes, and monitors information technology professional services provided by team. Works with the project owner or project business owner to oversee delivery performance, ensure delivery quality and report schedule and execution performance. Organizes, guides, and coordinates the planning and production of all contract support activities.


Core Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees all aspects of a technology projects to ensure it is completed on-time and within budget. 
  • Has overall responsibility for managing scope, schedule, internal staffing and outside vendors, and contractual deliverable. 
  • Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of projects. 
  • Possesses strong knowledge of technology. Typically reports to a manager. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. 
  • Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. 
  • Working with other key members on projects to come up with goals, objectives, and aims of the project. 
  • Works judiciously in line with organizational goals to give other team members direction on areas to focus on. 
  • Works as a liaison with other team members in generating and developing a good project plan that can achieve progression criteria with the use of proven methods in the shortest time possible without much expense. 
  • Provides clear directions and instructions to both team members and stakeholders with regards to external factors, to enable them to carry out their duties effectively. 
  • Creates and implements project plan and execution. 
  • Carries out constant evaluation and adjustment within a specific period of time to ensure that both internal and external factors do not suffer. 
  • Maintain direct and open interaction with Government Managers to make sure all resources needed for the project are available. 
  • Supports Continuity Of Operations (COOP) operations as needed


Requirements
  • Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain SCI
    • A Counter Intelligence Polygraph is required after start.
  • Minimum of fix (5) years of experience as an IT project team lead
  • Experience leading teams in large enterprise environments
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • PMP Certification
  • Experience managing network engineering projects
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with attention to detail
