Job Overview

XPECT Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Network Deployment Technician on an effort supporting our Federal Government Client in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will provide technical engineering support for our large federal government agency’s highly complex network infrastructure environment to include multiple enclaves comprising various classification levels.

This position will travel to various locations to cable and install Networking devices. The Network Deployment Technician will also be responsible with assisting the Engineers sitting at the home office with deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting the Network and Networking hardware 

Core Responsibilities

• Gather user network requirements utilizing multiple methodologies to provide necessary technical documentation, system requirement documents, systems security requirements documents, and system test plan.
• Ability to travel throughout the United States and its territories up to 50% of the time to various customer locations to install Networking equipment
• Assist other network engineers at various FBI office locations with deploying network devices.
• Understanding of rack elevation diagrams.
• Understanding of network cabling types, standards, and nomenclature (copper, fiber, CAT5, CAT6, 100bT, 1000bT, etc).
• Assist in the installation of network devices into rack systems in accordance with approved elevations including power, network, and related cabling.
• Utilize knowledge of inter-networking, computer systems, routers, switches, firewalls, and peripherals to enhance understanding of current network designs and to collaborate with other team members
• Work independently and collectively to help improve network solutions and contribute to network service improvements.

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI
  • A Counter Intelligence Polygraph is required after start.
• 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing network solutions.
• Experience racking, stacking, and cabling Network devices from scratch
  • Constructing Network Device Rack
  • Unboxing and Racking Network Devices
  • Cabling Equipment and Ensuring Power 
• Experience with Rack Elevation Diagrams
• Experience working with Cat5, Cat6, MMF, and SMF
• Experience in directly interfacing with customer and dealing with customer needs
• Experience with basic configuration of switches and routers.
• Experience with configuring from the CLI
• Experience with IT Ticketing systems (Jira, ServiceNow, etc)
• Experience providing Tier 1 and 2 troubleshooting support
• Experience in classified and unclassified network environments

Preferred Additional Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field
• CCNA Certification
